Ahwatukee Resident Rescues Neighbor From Home Fire

Christopher Gentis, a retired Phoenix Police Lieutenant and ABM Board Member, credits a quick thinking neighbor for alerting him that there was smoke in the neighborhood. Darlene Polk knew she had to act fast and summoned Christopher for help. Christopher ran to the scene and pulled the woman out of her kitchen window and through the yard to safety as the home was engulfed in flames. Phoenix Fire Department credits Christopher with saving her life and calls him a HERO..

Our thoughts and prayers are with the woman who lost her home. On behalf of her community, we will do all we can to assist her with the aftermath of her terrible losses.

BUILDING CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS

We're officially growing! After decades of busting at the seams - our new annex building is finally coming to fruition! Through years planning and saving, our new 3,000sq ft. building will accommodate meetings, events and parties, classes, activities and more!

Progress on our new building is in full swing.  The exterior is completed and is being painted this week. Pool fencing is being relocated this week, also.

Roof installation has been completed. Windows and store-front glass doors will be installed the week of the January 25.

ABM staff is performing a great deal of the work under the supervision of a licensed General Contractor. ABM management and staff have the know-how and are willing to perform these duties, in addition to day to day duties, to make this building possible.

We simply could not make this project financially possible without in-house staff and labor, reducing the cost to ABM significantly. We are on schedule and looking forward to all of you visiting the new building next spring.

Stay tuned - and check back for updates!
