On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff, welcome to Ahwatukee and the Ahwatukee Board of Management (ABM) homeowner association! Ahwatukee is a master planned community located in Phoenix, Arizona in Maricopa County. Voted by Money magazine as one of the "Best Places to Live" in December 2002, Ahwatukee remains an oasis in the desert. We are located next to beautiful South Mountain park, the largest city owned park in the United States, where you will find walking trails, tranquil sunsets and breathtaking views of the Valley of the Sun. Find out why Ahwatukee means "House of Your Dreams"...
MONSOON WEATHER ALERT!
Monsoon season is officially here and the news indicates a very active monsoon season for Arizona again this year. To assist our residents with deterring flooding, the ABM Board of Directors has approved the following assistance:
***Beginning Monday, July 6th sand and sandbags will be available in the parking lot at our offices (see map on right) for our residents free of charge.***
Please bring ID which indicates your residency in Ahwatukee - you may fill as many bags as you need. We will have some shovels available but you may want to bring your own. Residents will take and place sandbags at your property.
Tips for reducing your chances of flooding:
Ensure all fence weep holes are unobstructed
Remove items which could impede water flow from your property to the street
Place sandbags in vulnerable areas
Dig a shallow trench to guide water away from your home and toward the street
Please contact ABM for more information.
...And a note for last week's assistance to the FS-4 subdivision:
"A Special Thank - You to Ahwatukee Board of Management"
"This past Saturday Robert Blakesley, Paula Fosbinder, the Maintenance Staff, and various volunteers, including two hiker, gave up their morning to provide sand and fill sandbags to help previously flood ravaged residents along Mandan Street. Despite the early morning and hard work, everyone dedicated several hours. Water and burritos were provided to the hungry workers. We cannot begin to let them know how much we appreciate their assistance as we prepare for another monsoon season. Too often complaints are made about our board of management, but they are there behind the scenes providing supports and assistance without thanks. So to the Ahwatukee Board of Management - THANKS!
~ Linda Jewell and Mandan Residents~
